Though everyone associated with the Mulligan Tour is deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Joe Kunigonis, we all know that Joe would have wanted the Tour to continue and grow so that all his hard work would not have been in vain. Dennis Kelleher, Phil Stewart, and Rich Schutz along with help from Danny Kunigonis, will now be organizing and running the 2008 Mulligan Tour. We have a lot of new and exciting ideas that not only will continue the traditions of the Mulligan Tour, but also make the tour grow into one of the very best chapters of the Mulligan Tour.

 

Some of the changes for the 2008 season will be trophies for the winners of each event, along with cash prizes, professional looking scoreboards on the 10th and 16th tee and 18th green, cash prizes for closest to the pin and long drives. There will also be 4 major tournaments, including the Mulligan Masters, which will award a green jacket to the winner; the Mulligan U.S. Open, a 2 day event contested on a very demanding course with a beautiful championship cup going to the winner; the Mulligan British Open, contested on a links course with a silver cup going to the winner; and the 2 day Chapter Finals also contested over a very demanding championship course. A crystal cup will also be given to the points champion for the year.

 

We also intend on using much more Mulligan Tour advertising material so that everyone feels like they are playing on a professional tour. We hope all of you will join us for a great 2008 season that will be a fitting tribute to such a great man as our founder, Joe Kunigonis.

The Mulligan Tour is a competitive fun Tour, (The emphasis is just as much on fun as it is on competitiveness) $10/player does go in the cash pot with the feeling that if you win you should have your day paid for as a result, any more than that we feel could take the fun out of the game! Handicaps are based on your last 5 Tournament rounds with peer review available in our stats (Provided by leaderboard.com).
